Turning: While on the run as a young man after his village had seen a brutal end he was caught by the vampires who attacked his home. After the battle he had been running without looking back for a few days until they caught up with him in the jungles. Before Ben’s parents died they had taught him to fight but his developing skills were no match for the vampires who surrounded him. The fight lasted an entire minute before Ben was taken down and turned. Before he blacked out he heard the vampires conversing with each other. He woke up in a stronghold run by vampires. They told him they had brought him back in order to be trained. At first he was reluctant to just accept their tradition. But he saw no other choice. He wanted to finish his lessons. He was assigned to a vampire who went by Forty.
The years passed and Benjamin grew to know each of the names and faces of those that had killed his parents and burned his home down. He smiled painfully as they joked amongst one another and grit he teeth when asked a question. He felt confined beyond measure, constricted until he felt the breath turn to lacerated blood. Soon the blood turned to tears and Benjamin couldn’t hold himself together any longer. He would stand and scream for hours into the night far away from the stronghold in the jungles. His tears were constant. Then he knew he wanted to burn their playground to the ground. That night thunder rolled in the sky and rain lashed at the ground so heavily it created pools of silvery water. Benjamin tricked Forty into meeting him out front and then cracked the vampire’s neck. The stronghold would be filled with blood and fire as Benjamin went on a parade of vengeance killing all the vampires that he could.
Strengths: +Keeping to his father’s code of conduct++Looking to the future++Keeping sane++
Weaknesses: +Remembering the past++Drowning in pain++Worrying too much++
History: Benjamin was born Oluwa in a small town, Matjiesfontein. His parents raised him to be a local fisherman. Especially his father who was rather strict when it came to doing good work as should any good father do. His mother stayed at home to clean and do motherly thing. During the day, Oluwa, would attend the nearby school to study English and history. He was a very well-mannered boy. During the afternoons he would go the ocean with his father and learn the ropes of being a good fisherman. That was his father’s job. Akinsheye caught and sold fish to the market for a steady profit. This was what he wanted his son doing once he graduated school with excellent marks. Oluwa was very proud in himself. He loved what he did. Then his world came crashing down. One night a gang of roving vampires attacked and burned the village to ash. Oluwa and his father ran from the house after Oluwa’s mother was killed. They ran into the jungle following the rest of the village where they were slowly picked off. Oluwa ran for days thinking that he was in the clear. Now that his father had died he was completely alone for the first time in his life. At 17 he put so much confidence in himself that he could reach a friendly village and be safe. But nowhere was save. Oluwa was turned.
For years he grew up with the people who destroyed his life. Training and sleeping in their stronghold until the night he struck back. He did as much collateral damage as he could do before his past caught up with him again. He was knocked out and dumped in the jungle, as far as the vampires cared he could burn in the early sunlight. Oluwa had learned a lot. He woke up with a searing pain on the back of his head in the form of a lump and immediately was on his feet running. Fearing the sunlight that would peek through the foliage in a few hours time. He ran until his sides felt numb. He ran until his breath became ragged and paid a man to take him by wagon to the nearest trading escort. For Oluwa knew that traders would be leaving to sell their wares someplace else. Once he found the traders he paid the next man to take him to where ever he was going and to not open the carriage door under any circumstances. No questions asked.
From there the vampires who had made Oluwa’s life a living hell were not finished. They attacked the caravan. During the fight it seemed that one of the vampires turned on the rest. This strange man had killed them all and told Oluwa that he had been looking for him. The man had heard of the fires of Akinsheye and wanted to recruit Oluwa. He said he was sorry that it had happened and promised Oluwa that he would help finish his lessons. Oluwa traveled with the man to Europe where he was told the sun wouldn’t be a problem. There Oluwa’s training was complete and he grew rather fond of the man who called himself Benjamin. There was no last name, not that Oluwa knew. For Benjamin hadn’t told him it in the time he spent with the man. Together they invaded roving vampires who played the part of the ‘lion’ as Benjamin had put it. Together they wiped out many vampire criminal cells. This is what Benjamin did and Oluwa became very good at it. On one such mission they had just destabilized the group when the Russians breached the building and opened fire on everyone after an anonymous tip. Benjamin and Oluwa escaped via window, falling an impressive fall to the street they disappeared into the night.
Over a comfortable relaxation period near the fire Benjamin told Oluwa that if anything ever happened to him he wanted Oluwa to research into a group calling themselves the Resistance based out of London. Oluwa said he would. The next few days they had laid low, afraid that the Russians knew their faces. When they finally went back to seeking out criminal organizations and eradicating them, however, this one was different. It was a deal of some kind. Benjamin told Oluwa to keep his head down and everything would be fine. For the most part Oluwa kept quiet. It was a set up. Benjamin was immediately killed leaving Oluwa to once again fight off various vampires. In the fight Oluwa was knocked to his knees. While on his knees the leader of this gang of vampires grabbed him by the collar and said, “Do you think I am stupid Benjamin?” Oluwa stared into the eyes of this man and responded, “No.” Oluwa, shocked at the miscalculation, dug his hidden blade deep into the man’ chest.
A few days later Oluwa went to seek the Resistance and immediately signed up under the name Benjamin Ferrer.

Why was everything so difficult? Oluwa was alone again. Benjamin lay unmoving inches from him. Oluwa had already taken out three of the five vampires. He had been called Benjamin! Oluwa would live up to the honor of having such a name. Benjamin found himself throwing his leg out connecting with a vampire’s rib cage. Hearing the grunt had hand sprinted backwards and found himself pressing his hands against another vampire’s face and twisting. Adrenaline worked wonders. Even for a vampire. One came running with a stake in his hand, pointed at Oluwa. Oluwa lunged forward knocking the man out the nearby window to the ground below. That was it. Adrenaline had blacked out his sense and he fell to Benjamin’s side and too his hand in his own. “You helped me wash away my sins.” He then cradled Benjamin’s head in his hands and brought it close to his heart in a father like son embrace.
The future would be different now. Oluwa left the warehouse with a new name. Benjamin Ferrer. His past had been erased. He was a new man with a purpose. He ran his hand through his white hair and pushed through the heavy oak doors of the Resistance headquarters. “What do I have to sign?” He asked with a hint of slight loss in his voice. Benjamin felt a hand on his shoulder and in front of him was the hand of promise. Benjamin took the hand in his own and shook. “Welcome to the Resistance, Benjamin. Your father said you would be coming.” Benjamin had to flick a smirk of confusion.
